Posture and Curve Restoration
Increased screen time for Americans, including phones, computers, and TVs has contributed to posture and causes unhealthy spine and neck curvature changes. In addition, some patients have degenerative disc conditions that contribute to back and neck pain. Curve Correction Therapy technique applied by our trained chiropractors can help restore natural curvature, thus alleviating discomfort and giving surrounding muscles a break.
Our doctors are trained in treatments to help restore healthy curvature of the spine, improving posture and reducing pain. Utilizing a set of traction tools and x-rays to monitor progress, you can expect Curve Correction Therapy to be an important part of your care to get back to the pain-free life you desire.
Curve Correction Therapy (CCT)
What does it involve?
Curve correction therapy has a general outline for each visit. Based on your conversation with our provider, we will create a care plan to address your body as a whole. Every visits we will typical follow the following protocol:
Warmups on a physioball for both the neck and lower back to ensure they are prepared for the rest of the process.
Reps of wall traction to loosen the neck and begin the curve creation process.
Utilize specialized foam “fulcrums” paired with specific sets of exercises to begin address muscular tension as well as furthering the curve restoration process.
Once pain is beginning to alleviate, we will work to target specific muscle groups with exercises designated by the provider and his trained technician for the purpose to strengthening deficiencies. This will in turn support the body as a whole, improving functionality.
After we have worked the muscles, you will spend time on our vibration platform with a head weight and posture strap on. During this process, the nervous system is having to adapt to the constant movement. This will, over time, reinforce proper posture, allowing the body to hold for longer, ideally.
Lastly, we will end with a chiropractic adjustment from our provider to ensure you are in proper alignment before going on about your day.
How long will each visit take?
This process will take about an hour each visit. If our provider deems it necessary, this form of therapy can sometimes be paired with mechanical traction at the end of the visit, which can add up to 35-45 minutes to the appointment.
