Here at ABR, we prioritize pain relief and improved functionality. Our massage therapists strive to not only relieve muscular tension, but to identify and trace the source of the pain to maintain progress. Patient education is a major philosophy that is ingrained in the fabric of our clinic. Our knowledgeable therapists understand muscular, nervous, and lymphatic systems to a degree that they can teach stretches and techniques to aid in maintaining progress through daily activities. If we can create better habits, it allows our bodies to function optimally.

  • Cupping Method + $30
  • Lymphatic Drainage + $30

What is…

  • Raindrop Method: a holistic therapy combining 11 different essential oils and reflexology to promote deep relaxation, reduced stress, and align the body's energy. This method even promotes an improved immune system and lymphatic drainage by using antimicrobial properties in oils such as oregano and thyme.

  • Cupping Method: is an ancient practice that uses suction to boost circulation, relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and loosen tight muscles. Cupping can also aid in breaking up adhesions, which is scar-like tissue that forms between organs and tissues, causing them to stick together. Injury caused trauma, infections in the abdomen and pelvis, endometriosis, and non-surgical conditions that cause inflammation, such as appendicitis, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and peritonitis can all result in adhesions.

  • Lymphatic Drainage: involves a systematic approach to maintaining fluid balance and defending against infections by filtering fluids through lymph nodes where immune cells live to trap bacterial and viral cells to prevent illness. This process is performed with slow, repetative, rhythmic strokes toward lymph nodes to open them up promoting drainage through the whole body.

Techniques our massage therapists are trained in and how they can benefit you…

Deep Tissue & Myofascial Release

  • Muscle stripping: using thumbs, knuckles, and forearms to apply deep, gliding pressure along the length of the muscle fibers to elongate the muscle.

  • Friction / cross-fiber: a method involving applying pressure across the grain (or perpendicular) to the inflamed muscle for the purpose of breaking down stubborn adhesion (knots) and scar tissue.

  • Trigger point therapy: this requires a sustained application of pressure on extremely hyper-irritable spots for 30 to 120 seconds to release tension and improve blood flow.

Deep tissue massages commonly include techniques like:

While those techniques are effective for many, some individuals with more chronic conditions caused by different stressors may require a myofascial release. Our massage therapists performed continued education to become trained in this technique.

The John F. Barnes myofacial release involves a sustained, gentle pressure applied to not only muscles, but also fascia. Fascia is a connected web of tissue that runs throughout the entire body, wrapping around muscles to support them by promoting proper gliding. When fascia is healthy, it will be elastic and stretches easily, but when your body experiences stress, injury, or a lack of movement, it can cause the tissue to become thick and tight, in return, restricting motion.

When performed properly, the sustained pressure from this technique will breakdown adhesions (or scar tissue that sticks fascia and muscle together), restoring tissue elasticity and promoting blood flow to allow muscles and joints to move freely.
